Ghosting on the world

Shielded in misery

I lay

In my cheap sheets of grief

Safe in the arms of pain

Don’t call me

I say I’m fine, though I’m not

I fake a smile, though I’m hurt

If you dial, I dodge

And time passes

I slide deeper into my trenches

It’s safe where no one is

Where light conceals

I’ll be out when I’m gone
